…was born in 1948. He studied biology and chemistry at Saarbrücken University and metallurgy at Aachen College of Technology (RWTH), where he was awarded a doctorate in 1978.
From 1977 to 1994 Dr.-Ing. Wolfram Mörsdorf performed a variety of duties at the Saint Gobain Pont à Mousson group. From 1977 he worked for Halbergerhütte GmbH, Saarbrücken, from 1985 for Luitpoldhütte AG, Amberg, ultimately as chairman of the executive board, and from 1989 for Halberg-Guß GmbH, Saarbrücken, ultimately as chairman of the management board.
In October 1994 Dr. Mörsdorf moved to the Thyssen Group where he was member of the Executive Board of Thyssen Guss AG, Essen, until 1998. From 1998 he was member of the Management Board of Thyssen Umformtechnik + Guss GmbH, Bochum. Effective October 1, 2001 Dr. Mörsdorf was appointed member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Automotive AG and was also Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of ThyssenKrupp Budd Company, Troy/USA. Dr. Mörsdorf was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Automotive AG effective April 15, 2004 and member of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp AG.
Since October 1, 2006, Dr. Mörsdorf is Vice Chairman of the Executive Board of ThyssenKrupp Technologies.
